67th Noteboomtournament: February 16 to 18 februari 2007

For the 67th time, the Leidsch Schaakgenootschap organizes its Daniël Noteboomtoernooi. Upholding its longstanding tradition, the tournament will be a 6 round Swiss event, with pairings according to Buchholz. Two groups will play on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Group A is open for players over 1800, and players over 1900 will not be allowed in group B.

Smoking is prohibited in the entire building. Obviously, one is free to smoke outside.

All prizes in Euros. The prizefund will be increased at 300 participants or more. Furthermore, ratingprizes, best-game prize, supertrio. Prizes will be shared equally in the event of equal scores. No more than one prize per person, with the exception of the best-game prize and the supertrio.

The inscription fee of 25 Euros can only be paid at the venue, in cash. GM, IM, WGM and players over 2400 participate have free entry, unfortunately no other conditions will be given.

A "bye" is only allowed in one of the first two rounds, a timely written notification provided.

Playing Details

40 Moves in 1.45 hrs. (FIDE-regulations). After 40 moves, both players will receive 15 minutes extra to finish the game. The results will count for Dutch ELO, not for FIDE.

Directions

From A44 Den Haag - Amsterdam:
Offramp Afslag Rijnsburg/Oegstgeest.
Follow directions Leiden at the end.
Continue in the direction of Leiden.
After entering the city of Leiden, take the roundabout to the left (Kagerstraat).

From A4 Rotterdam - Amsterdam - Utrecht:
Offramp Leiden-Noord.
Follow the sings to Leiden (Leidse weg)
Follow sings to Central Station (Willem de Zwijgerlaan)
Hold right before the tunnel, and take a right below the tracks (Rijnsburgerweg)
At the roundabout, take the right turn. (Kagerstraat)

Public Transportation:
Take the back-exit at Leiden Central Station (LUMC)
At your right you will find the Rijnsburgerweg. Turn left and follow this road.
Turn right at the roundabout (Kagerstraat)
No more than a 10 minutes walk.
